I’ve been thinking long and hard about what I really want to receive this holiday season and I’ve decided to go towards a more practical approach (really good excuse) to get some awesome pieces I’ve been swooning over the past few months. Well, I’ve been working on getting my mounds and mounds of paperwork under control, my books set beautifully on a shelf, and I need a better way to transport my laundry from the home to the garage. So my list consists of stylish decor that will help me get organized throughout my home after a pretty hectic holiday season! I’m always crazy about nature and planting, and now I’ve learned about this company that creates really awesome designs as planters for your home. The company is called Boskke, and they have evolved gardening with the beauty and simplicity of natural life combined with a cool contemporary style, and I am in LOVE. Their planters are called the ‘Sky Planters’ as they hang upside down from the ceiling…..perfect for the apartment in the city or that small home office. And don’t worry, all the dirt won’t fall out; there is a locking disc around the stem of the plant that connects to the pot. Take a look at some of their designs!

We had to share a few images Kristen shot for a client here in Santa Barbara. I love her kitchen and knew this would be perfect for some colour inspiration. This clients’ style is impeccable, and I think she has the perfect combination of colours and textures for this California kitchen. There is a great mix of traditional and quirky style in this home, and that is why I LOVE it! Her vintage chromed bar stools with yellow cushions, and the amazing colour details throughout, make this kitchen my colour inspiration!

Here is a close up of a small area in the kitchen that I think leaves a big presence. She has this open area to display her dishes, and instead of choosing one colour palette, she has picked a number of bright dishes. Why not add some fun to your space by livening up your simple set of white dishes or white cabinets? By adding vivid pinks and bright green dishes, this kitchen was transformed into an enlightened room where entertaining and style meet some serious ‘colour luxury.’

I’m starting a new weekly post called ‘Dreaming of…’ with a special room or product I am dreaming of each week. Today I’m dreaming of a warm cozy bed…While we’re all waking up on this Monday morning, I’ve decided that although I can’t stay in bed this morning, I will at least dream of beautiful soft fabrics and cozy blankets. Soft pastels make these beds seem even more soft and comfy, and this is definitely something I can dream about on this Monday morning.

I really love to mix natural wood furniture with more modern pieces. I’ve now found some pieces that can give me a more natural look with a modern twist. The colours are soft and mute, while the style of these pieces are strong and definitely demand attention in the room. Enjoy!
