Living in the Black

August 23, 2010

Loving black decor is so new for me! Living in a small beach house in Santa Barbara has always inspired me to decorate with very soft, light colours. I typically love light shades of white, grey, blue, and silver, but I am now falling for darker colours, particularly anything black! Maybe it is because I’m secretly dreaming of having a stylish apartment in San Francisco or New York City. I think that adding even just one black piece to your space can add a cool sophistication that demands attention! Here are some modern black pieces I have began to obsess over. Feel free to leave comments to help me find some more pieces to add to my wish list!

Creative Outdoor Spaces

February 5, 2010

Spring is our favorite time of year. The weather is beautiful, flowers are blooming, and everyone seems to love spending more time outside. We are beginning to think about our outdoor spaces and are in the early planning stages of our many parties to come all the way through to fall!

Creative Outdoor Spaces

We love interesting outdoor lighting, and have an image that will be sure to inspire your outdoor parties. We suggest adding some colour and warmth to your patios by finding coloured paper lanterns that will bring a trendy and romantic feeling to those calm spring evenings and those warm summer nights.

The easiest way to hang paper lanterns is by finding battery powered lights, or by purchasing light cords and manually putting the lanterns together with the light bulbs. You can find great paper lanterns and light cords from Pier 1 Imports. Get creative with your outdoor spaces and find decor that will inspire you to utilize all of your space and make you want to spend more time outdoors.

Lighting in Style

January 2, 2010

Creating beautiful lighting in every part of your home is essential to completing your personalized style from floor to ceiling. Even children’s rooms are important to decorate with a style you can enjoy, so we suggest having a chandelier made to fit your child’s imagination, while remaining beautiful for your home.

In this image, this chandelier was made to resemble a ship, enhancing the nautical theme of this little boy’s bedroom. You can always find ways to personalize a space, and this is a unique, yet practical piece you and your little one will use everyday.

Candles Add Instant Style

December 22, 2009

There is something magical about this time of year; the decorations all over town, the opportunity to give to those you love, and the constant holiday parties you will be attending this season.

It is important to create a calming atmosphere in your home  that makes you feel comfortable and luxurious so you can unwind from that busy day. We suggest to buy some great smelling candles, votives, and vases in an array of sizes. Add some fresh flowers and you have created your own relaxation ‘spa’ in your living room. Candles add instant atmosphere to your relaxation methods and will be sure to add some style to your home.
